During the raid, the police officers have seized a huge quantity of duplicate bearings worth of more than 50 lacs of rupees, which were being sold in Chennai and various other parts of Southern India. Police have registered a case under Section 51(b) (i) and 63(a) of the Copyright Act, 1957.
SKF’s primary concern for such action is to maintain quality of its products as the counterfeit products are not manufactured as per industry standards and can lead to automotive failure besides injuries to consumers.
